The 'Grand in Pontianak - a good stay to enter Kalimantan
Very nice staff, Hotel building is well designed and has a small gym and library. I enjoyed the stay a lot since the staff was always caring and very service oriented.
The first room had some cockroaches, but staff was very nice and upgraded to a better and more spacious room.

Cheap and cost effective but does not excuse lack of cleanliness
Common parts of the hotel were in good condition
Room cleanliness wasn’t that great. The room was smelly. Bedsheets were old and stained and were mismatched from different sets, the hotel has visibly not invested in new bedding for a very very long time I had to have them replaced in my room. The bathroom was entirely made out of glass which only works if the stainless steel piping is kept immaculately clean and shiy, which it wasn’t. The hot water kettle stopped functioning. No hangers in the cupboard

Breakfast and staff deserve the four stars ...
Very friendly and helpfull staff, excellent and very big breakfast buffet, huge bed, big and comfortable chairs in the "bar"
Too many broken things: a moving toilet seat, hangers, plugs, TV and a water tab that was connected upside down. For a hotel with this quality I expect more love for the little details
